The production of intermediate crops (CIVE) by our partner farmers enables them to embark on an agroecological transition based on increasing the level of organic matter (OM) in the soil, providing permanent soil cover, and reducing the need for ploughing, chemical fertilizers and plant protection products. Soil cover also reduces soil erosion and the leaching of nitrogen residues. The 3-point gain in OM targeted by our projects represents the storage of 50 tonnes of carbon per hectare. Each project aims to achieve this increase in organic matter on around 300 hectares.
A DualMetha site produces around 12,000 MWh of biomethane per year, equivalent to the energy consumption of 2,000 inhabitants.
This biomethane is produced continuously and replaces imported fossil gas, contributing to the country's energy transition and energy independence. Replacing fossil gas avoids around 2,200 tonnes of CO2 equivalent every year.
